Weeds Season 5 Premiere: The Hemptress Returns

Weeds Season 5 Premiere is coming back to Showtime with the season 5 premiere on Monday, June 8. If you were able to follow Season 4, you’ll know the big cliff-hanger we’ll be looking to see resolved is whether or not Nancy is really pregnant with boyfriend Esteban’s son. Nancy was a trigger-pull away from leaving her two sons orphaned after selling out her cartel-running-boyfriend to the police. But before the grim reaper could rear his faceless head, our heroine landed the preggers bomb on Esteban.

The Weeds Season 5 Premiere returns to our favorite cable network on June 8 at 10PM followed immediately by the much anticipated series premiere of Nurse Jackie with Edie Falco.

Weeds according to Wikipediais a US comedy television series created by Jenji Kohan, produced by Lionsgate Television for the Showtime network.

Before, the plot revolves around a widowed housewife (Mary-Louise Parker) from an affluent California suburb who becomes her neighborhood's marijuana dealer to make ends meet. The title is a play on words, referring to a commonly-used slang term for marijuana. It also refers to the tendency of American suburbs to grow quickly and pervasively, with the dwellings and their residents being almost as indistinguishable as weeds. This is mirrored in the show's theme song "Little Boxes" and opening credits, and is a recurring theme of the show itself. Going against this "all the same" theme, across the second and third seasons the theme song is performed by over twenty different artists.

Weeds currently comprises four seasons that began airing in August 2005. It was the highest rated series for Showtime its first year; its fourth-season premiere attracted 1.3 million viewers to Showtime, the channel's highest-ever viewership; the season as a whole averaged 962,000 viewers

Showtime announced on July 18, 2008 that two more seasons of thirteen episodes each will be produced.

Mary-Louise Parker won a Golden Globe for her performance on the show, and Jenji Kohan won a WGA award for her screenplay for the pilot episode. Don't forget to watch the succeding episodes..
